Travel to Newcastle
By Car
As the M1 is likely to form part of any driven route to Newcastle you may want to explore The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, just off Junction 38. Further north is The Angle of the North just off the Great North Road (A1). Be sure to savour the view as you drive over the iconic Tyne Bridge. This journey will take between 3hr 30min & 4hrs depending on traffic (It's about 200 miles)
By Train
There are a number of methods of booking train tickets. We looked at 2;
Trainline - A direct ticket from Rugby to Newcastle with a Senior Railcard would cost £169.70 & takes 3hr 49min (change at Tamworth)
Split ticketing - Using the same trains but using split ticketing with a Senior Railcard cost £67.07 & takes 3hr 49min (change at Tamworth)
On Foot
Not Recommended as it will take 68hrs, though ther will be some spectacular countryside to walk through.
